Companion Care

Companion Care (CC) services are provided for adults through the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Waiver to facilitate independence and promote community participation. This service is designed to allow individuals residing in their own home or their family’s home to have fun in life and learn skills that connect them to natural resources. Companion Care supports are provided as specified in the individual’s plan of care and may include the following:

  • Daily assistance
  • Activity training
  • Laundry
  • Routine household care and maintenance
  • Activities of daily living
  • Personal hygiene
  • Shopping
  • Use of money
  • Medication management
  • Socialization
  • Relationship building
  • Leisure choices
  • Participation in activities
  • Producing therapeutic outcomes

CC services are provided by a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
